Saudi police clashed Wednesday with Islamic militants planning “terrorist” attacks, arresting one militant after detaining three alleged accomplices earlier this week, the official Saudi Press Agency reported. An Interior Ministry official told the agency two police officers were injured in the shootout at a farm in northern Qasim district. At least three suspected militants escaped after seizing a bystander’s car at gunpoint. Police went to the farm after arresting three militants east of the capital Riyadh Sunday, the official said. He said the suspects belonged to “cells in the early stages of planning terrorist attacks.” Authorities seized arms and chemicals used to make explosives at the farm, the agency said. Full Story
