Three militant Israeli settlers were sentenced Tuesday to prison terms ranging from 12 to 15 years for parking an explosives-laden trailer outside a Palestinian school for girls in East Jerusalem in April of last year. The Israeli police caught the men at the scene and neutralized the bomb, preventing any injuries. During the past three years, Jewish extremists have been suspected in the killings of nine Palestinians, and the case on Tuesday marked a rare instance in which Israeli authorities have managed to win a conviction and a lengthy prison term in actual or attempted attacks.
