There were two failed explosive attacks in Corsica last night, in Ajaccio: two explosive devices were found this morning. The target of one, weighing 40 kg, was the GIR – the [Regional] Intervention Unit [made up of police, gendarmes, tax officers and customs officers, set up in 2002 with the aim of tackling the underground economy and forms of trafficking which it generates] – and the other, weighing 20 kg, was planted outside the town’s Search and Intervention Brigade [police unit].
