Authorities today ordered more interrogation of three suspected Jama’atul Mujahidin leaders by the joint interrogation cell (JIC) in Dhaka subject to a court consent as officials here said the arrested suspects disclosed “important information” on their activities, says BSS. Senior police officials here said three major militant leaders, out of 38 arrested suspects, are due to be sent to Dhaka in next two days for interrogation by the JIC, comprising police and intelligence agencies under an extended remand period expected to be granted by a court here. They said during the past four days of interrogation they identified the three, Anwar Shahadat, 30, Rashidul Islam, 23, and Maksudur Rahman, 21, as chiefs of the militant group’s Dinajpur, Panchagarh and Joypurhat units. A seven-member local interrogation team headed by an additional police superintendent of Joypurhat questioned the 38 arrested suspects for the fourth consecutive day today after they were remanded into a five-day police custody on a court order.
