CIOs who have recently been pinched by budget constraints are now finding themselves overwhelmed with work as companies decide that they can no longer delay critical hardware and software upgrades, a new survey indicates. In a poll of more than 1,400 U.S. CIOs (chief information officers), 20 percent said that their workload has increased significantly in the last 12 months, while 35 percent said that their workload has increased somewhat. The poll was published and developed by Robert Half Technology in Menlo Park, Calif., and conducted by an independent research firm.
