Key West jury finds Cuban guilty of hijacking plane to U.S.
A federal jury in Key West on Thursday convicted a Cuban man who hijacked a plane to the United States by using fake homemade grenades. After a four-day trial and about an hour of deliberations, the jury found Adermis Wilson González, 34, guilty of air piracy. Wilson could receive from 20 years to life in prison when sentenced in Miami on Sept. 19. U.S. Attorney Marcos Jiménez said the conviction sent a message that hijacking would not be tolerated, regardless of the circumstances. Full Story
