A rocket-propelled grenade hit a U.S. military ambulance in southern Baghdad on Thursday, killing an American soldier and wounding two, a U.S. army spokesman said. It was the third deadly ambush in the Iraqi capital in as many days. One soldier was killed in a drive-by shooting on Wednesday and another died the previous day after being shot in the back by a sniper while on patrol in northern Baghdad. Earlier, the Arabic television channel Al Jazeera said three soldiers had been killed in Thursday’s incident. The U.S. army has said it believes guerrillas loyal to Saddam Hussein are behind a recent wave of attacks on U.S. forces in Baghdad and restive areas to the north and west. Full Story
