Colombian Air Force Says 67 Rebels Killed

The Colombian Air Force said today it had killed at least 67 Marxist rebels in two bombing raids against guerrilla camps in the south and east of the country. Air Force Gen. Hector Fabio Velasco said an attack by jet fighters and helicopter gunships in a rural district in southern Cauca province killed 37 fighters from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC. Velasco said another 30 FARC rebels were killed in a separate air raid in the southern province of Meta, east of the capital. The information could not be independently confirmed. Full Story
