The Norwegian embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia closed its doors on Wednesday after receiving a concrete terrorist threat. Last week Norway’s embassy in Kenya closed after their premises were threatened with destruction. Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Karsten Klepsvik told Aftenposten’s Internet edition that the embassy would remain shut for the rest of the week. “We were informed that there was a threat and we took it seriously,” Klepsvik said. He told Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) that the threat was quite specific and that Norway had been informed by a friendly nation. Klepsvik was hesitant to connect this latest threat to a Norwegian embassy and the blanket threat from terrorist group al-Qaida to strike Norwegian interests abroad. Full Story
