Norway’s embassy in Kenya closed its doors for the day after an email was sent threatening to destroy the high-rise building housing its offices on Thursday. Norway’s ambassador to Kenya, Kjell Harald Dalen, told Reuters the email was sent to the Italian embassy, which is based in the same building, along with the Finnish, Swedish and Spanish embassies. British Airways, which stopped flights to Kenya on May 19 over security fears, also has offices in the building. “The email said something about bringing down the building. It said this would be on May 29,” Dalen said, adding that the embassy would reopen on Friday. “We looked at this in the wider context… Kenya has been a target before, and there is last week’s speech by an al Qaeda official targeting the United States, Britain and Norway.” Full Story
