Liberian President Charles Taylor will lead a government delegation for talks in the Ghanaian capital Accra on June 2 with rebels who have been fighting his regime since 1999, one of his aides told AFP. Taylor will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Monie Captan and other officials, a close aide of the president told AFP by telephone Wednesday from Monrovia. Earlier Nelson Blamoh, the head of Taylor’s office, said the government was ready to hold talks with the Liberians United for Reconciliation and Democracy (LURD) rebel group.
