Taking strong exception to the Indian hackers attacks on Pakistan’s official websites the government Friday formed a special committee to investigate the matter and submit its recommendations at the earliest possible for resolution of the grave problem. According to an official of the IT Ministry, Federal Information Technology Minister Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari announced the formation of a high-powered committee to give recommendations for countering repeated denial of service attacks directed against government websites by foreign hackers. “The seven-member committee headed by Nooruddin Baqai, member telecom of the Ministry of Information Technology, will come up with a concrete strategy to stem the incidence of DoS attacks,” the minister was qouted as saying following a meeting with the representatives of internet service providers (ISPs), officials of the ministry, PTA,PTCL, PSEB and Comsats. The committee will work on urgent basis and suggest short-term measures within two days while a comprehensive strategy will be submitted to me in five days,” the Minister added. The minister said the committee would also discuss whether there was a possibility of changing the host servers of the government websites to keep them safe from the hackers. Full Story
