Call to Free Virus Maker

SUPPORTERS campaigning for the release of a jailed North Wales cyber vandal are raising money by selling boxer shorts and other memorabilia on the internet. Ex-website designer and part-time DJ Simon Vallor, 22, of Llandudno, was jailed for two years in January after he admitted sending three viruses by e-mail under the Computer Misuse Act. The viruses Admirer, GoKar and Redesi infected 27,000 computer terminals in more than 40 countries. Now friends of Vallor – known by the nickname Gobo – are campaigning for his early release claiming the sentence was harsh and inappropriate. They have set up a new website and are selling “Free Gobo” boxer shorts, T-shirts, mugs and stickers. Money raised from the goods, which range from £1.99 for a sticker to £20.99 for a sweatshirt, goes to fund Vallor’s legal fight. Full Story
