Three top Pakistani militants were among five terrorists gunned down in separate encounters in Poonch district in Jammu division where a Congress leader was killed by militants, official sources said on Tuesday. A group of militants barged into the house of Congress leader and lawyer, Choudhary Mohammad Afzal, at Topa village in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district on Monday night and shot him dead, they said. In a gunbattle between troops and militants during a search-and-cordon operation in Hari Bhudda forest belt in Poonch, the three Pakistani militants belonging to the Harkat-ul-Jehadi-Islami were killed, the sources said adding three AK rifles and five UBGL grenades were among arms and ammunition seized from the spot.
