Two suspected members of al-Qaeda have been arrested in the Pakistani city of Peshawar, the authorities say. Information Minister Sheikh Rashid told the BBC the two men are believed to be part of a group that was under investigation when a member of Pakistan’s intelligence services (ISI) was killed last month. The intelligence officer, Sher Nawaz Khan, was killed in the Wanna tribal area close to the border with Afghanistan. It was the first killing of an intelligence official in the area since operations to flush out suspected al-Qaeda or Taleban militants began in late 2001. Full Story
