Two men suspected of involvement in November’s suicide bombing of an Israeli-owned hotel in Kenya have escaped from police custody, a source close to the investigation said Friday. Ten Kenyans and three Israelis were killed in the attack on the Paradise Hotel in Mombasa last November when three suicide bombers detonated a car bomb outside the building. The escape took place about two weeks ago but has only just been revealed. The men were on their way to Mombasa airport to be transferred to Nairobi, the nation’s capital, for further interrogation, the source said. Kenyan newspapers reported that several Kenyan police officers had been detained in connection with the escape.
