The FBI warned U.S. law enforcement officials on Wednesday to look out for people who may be trying to make improvised chemical weapons. In its weekly intelligence bulletin distributed to law enforcement officials across the country, the FBI said it had recently obtained information about a chemical weapon that can be made with easily available items. “The device could produce a toxic gas such as hydrogen cyanide or chlorine gas,” the bulletin said. “Little or no training is required to assemble and deploy such a device due to its simplicity.” The FBI did not give any details on why it was worried about the improvised chemical weapon or if it had received any specific threats related to the weapon.
