The trial in Berlin of six men who seized control of the Iraq diplomatic mission there last August has begun. The men, five Iraqis and one Iraqi-born German, are accused of taking hostages, causing bodily harm and trespassing. Defence lawyers attempted to get the charges dropped on the grounds that the accused were trying to achieve the same goal as the US-led coalition attacking Iraq. But the court ruled there was no legal basis for suspension of the trial. Full Story
