The FBI warned U.S. law enforcement officials on Wednesday to be on the lookout for suspicious activity by vehicles with Iraqi diplomatic license plates. In its weekly intelligence bulletin distributed to law enforcement officials across the country, the FBI explained how to distinguish the license plates of Iraqi diplomatic personnel in the United States. “Suspicious activity involving vehicles bearing Iraqi diplomatic license plates should be reported immediately to the nearest Joint Terrorism Task Force,” the bulletin said. It noted that since the United States and Iraq severed diplomatic relations over a decade ago the official Iraqi diplomatic presence in the United States has been limited to its United Nations mission in New York City and a small Interests Section under the auspices of the Algerian Embassy in Washington.
