A local Davao City court has issued arrest warrants against Hashim Salamat, chairman of the southern Philippine-based secessionist Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), three other top MILF officials and 144 MILF activists in connection with the Davao International Airport bombing on March 4 that killed at least 21 and wounded 134. Judge Paul Arcangel of the Davao Regional Trial Court Branch 12 said there was sufficient ground to file charges of multiple murder and multiple frustrated murder against the MILF leaders and guerrillas. Apart from Salamat, other top officials against whom arrest warrants were issued are Ghadzali Jaafar, MILF vice-chairman for political affairs, Al Haj Murad, vice-chairman for military affairs, and Eid Kabalu, spokesman. The court also ordered the continued detention of Terso and Undungan Sudang, father and uncle, respectively, of alleged suicide bomber Montasher Sudang. Full Story
