Three Indian security force men were killed and nine people wounded in Indian Kashmir on Friday in a gun battle with suspected separatist rebels in a hotel where police believed some guests might be trapped. A senior police official said they were uncertain about the whereabouts of the guests at the three-story hotel in Poonch town near the a cease-fire line dividing Indian and Pakistan Kashmir. “There were some guests staying in the hotel but we are not sure whether they managed to get out yet or are still inside,” he said by telephone from Poonch, 225 km (140 miles) from Jammu, winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
