Two months after its leader and his lieutenants were killed in police shootouts, the notorious M-16 gang has pulled in recruits and more firepower. Its members have struck twice in less than three weeks, pulling off the RM1 million (S$457,000) gems grab in Masai, Johor on Feb 24 and staging a double strike at adjoining goldsmith shops in Ampang on Monday night. Now the police are hunting them down with a RM100,000 bounty for information leading to their capture. ‘The remaining members of the M-16 gang have brought in new recruits,’ federal police Criminal Investigation Department director Salleh Mat Som said. ‘They are armed and dangerous and also know how to handle explosives.’ Full Story
