Spain suspects that five people arrested on suspicion of being involved in the truck bombing of a Tunisian synagogue last year had financial ties with Osama Bin Laden, the interior minister has said. The suspects – four Spanish nationals and a Pakistani – were arrested in the south-western city of Valencia and the northern town of Logrono in the Rioja region, investigators said. Fourteen German tourists were among the 21 people killed in the attack, which took place last April on the Tunisian island of Djerba. Al-Qaeda was reported last year to have claimed responsibility for the attack. The five suspects – which the AFP news agency said included a woman – have been taken to Madrid for questioning. Spanish Interior Minister Angel Acebes said investigators were looking into possible money laundering and transfers of money to a number of countries and organisations linked to al-Qaeda. Full Story
