Palestinians: IDF troops arrest Hamas leader in Ramallah

IDF troops arrested a senior leader of Hamas’s military wing in the West Bank city of Ramallah, Israel Radio quoted Palestinian sources as saying Wednesday. According to the reports, IDF troops nabbed Abdullah Jamal Barghouti in his apartment and hastily evacuated him from the city. IDF units operating in Nablus on Wednesday morning demolished the family home of a Hamas man involved in an attack on the Beka’ot checkpoint six months ago. One Israeli soldier was wounded in the attack. Israeli forces arrested 20 Palestinians in the West Bank on Wednesday, 10 of them in Bethlehem. Palestinian sources also reported that IDF troops in Qalqilyah arrested four men early Wednesday morning suspected of participation in terror attacks. According to the Palestinian reports, a large Israeli infantry force accompanied by tanks fanned out into Qalqilyah’s neighborhoods. IDF troops arrested Fatah activist Mustafa Abdullah Sabri in the operation. Another arrested man, Hussein Daoud, is the father of a Palestinian wanted by Israel for terror-related activities.
