An Ottawa man accused of being a terrorist wants a court to order the government to tell him why. Mohamed Harkat, 34, was arrested last December under a so-called security certificate for alleged terrorist connections. The certificate was signed by Solicitor General Wayne Easter and Immigration Minister Denis Coderre. Harkat’s lawyer, Bruce Engel, appeared in federal court on Tuesday trying to force the government to reveal some of its evidence. Harkat is accused by federal agents of being connected to the banned Algerian Islamic Army Group and having ties to al-Qaeda. Full Story
