FOUR policemen were wounded when suspected New Peoples’ Army (NPA) rebels ambushed them Monday at the boundary of Maragondon and Magallanes towns in Cavite, the police provincial director said. Colonel Roberto Rosales said seven policemen were aboard a service vehicle when they were fired upon at around 1:25 PM at Barangay (village) Talipusngo. The men were on their way to the village after reports of rebel sightings in the area. Rosales identified one of the injured as a certain Inspector Malubay, the head of the responding team.
