Authorities in Kuwait say they have arrested three men on suspicion of planning terrorist attacks against United States forces in the area. A statement from the Interior Ministry identified the men – all Kuwaitis – as Ahmed Mutlaq al-Mutairi, 29; Abdullah Mutlaq al-Mutairi, 32; and Musaed Horan al-Enezi, 28. A cache of guns and ammunition was also seized as the three were detained, the statement said. The Associated Press (AP) news agency quoted an Interior Ministry official as saying the men were arrested on Sunday after having been under surveillance for some time. The unnamed official alleged that the two al-Mutairis were brothers and all three men were supporters of Osama Bin Laden. A Kuwaiti official told the BBC that so far there was no evidence of any foreign links to the trio, and he said they had been captured on security cameras loitering in areas where Americans congregate.
