Israeli troops killed a wanted Hamas militant on Tuesday morning as part of a new offensive following the deaths of four Israeli soldiers in an attack at the weekend. The army also arrested 27 Palestinians across the West Bank and Gaza, including three women aged between 16 and 20 suspected of preparing to become suicide bombers. The Israelis also announced that they were lifting the closure of the West Bank and Gaza, allowing Palestinians to travel to Israel for the first time in eight days. The Middle East moves came as international mediators prepared to meet Palestinian representatives in London to continue to press for reform of Palestinian institutions. The Hamas activist was named as Mohammad Morr, 27, who was shot dead in the early hours of Tuesday in the village of Yatta near Hebron in the West Bank.
