Information from federal authorities about when and where terrorists might strike in the United States has been vague, at best. But taking some precautions as if a hurricane is on its way would still be a good idea, Sheriff Ken Jenne said Wednesday. “I think all of us in local law enforcement need to have more specific information,” Jenne said. “It’s very difficult — not only on the taxpayers but also on the morale of our personnel — to be under a general alert. “I have no direct or indirect knowledge that South Florida is a target,” he said. “My family lives here, and they will continue to live here. I have no fear of that. But we know sometime in the near future there’s a possibility that there’ll be an act of terror on our shores, and we ought to be prepared for it.” Full Story
