There was a bomb in a car at the centre of a security alert on the outskirts of Belfast, police have confirmed. The car was abandoned near Blacks Road in Dunmurry at about 0720 GMT on Friday after being hijacked half an hour earlier. The road was closed and the nearby M1 motorway had to be shut during rush hour while the security forces examined the area. Army bomb experts carried out a controlled explosion shortly after 1000 GMT and the car was destroyed. The area was reopened to traffic a short time later. Full Story
