Two men have appeared in court to face charges of being members of the al-Qaeda network, more than a year after they were remanded in custody. Baghdad Meziane, 37, and Brahim Benmerzouga, 30, made their appearance in Leicester Crown Court on Wednesday, but the case was immediately adjourned for legal arguments. Mr Meziane and Mr Benmerzouga are charged with membership of al-Qaeda, which is proscribed under the UK’s Terrorism Act 2000.
