Police accused Islamic separatists in Indian Kashmir Tuesday of giving Muslim women an ultimatum to quit the police force, but the rebels denied the charge. Police said threatening posters had been put up by the pro-Pakistan Harkat-e-Jehad-e-Islami, one of several groups fighting Indian rule in the Himalayan region.
