Mayor Bloomberg has been subpoenaed to testify at the Manhattan trial of two men accused of hacking into his media empire’s computer system from former Soviet state Kazakhstan and attempting to blackmail him for $200,000. Bloomberg’s role as star witness comes after his performance as a jet-setting crimefighter to help FBI agents nab the pair in August 2000. Computer whiz Oleg Zezov and his lawyer, Igor Yarimaka, are scheduled to stand trial in two weeks on extortion, conspiracy and unauthorized computer-intrusion charges stemming from a plot allegedly hatched against Bloomberg before he became mayor.
