French and Spanish police arrested 14 members of Spain`s far-left guerrilla group GRAPO Thursday during a coordinated sweep in Paris and Madrid, French and Spanish news media reported. The arrests of suspected top members of the group were made in raids on more than half a dozen apartments in the two countries. The group, whose name stands for Los Grupos de Resistencia Antifascista Primero de Octubre in Spanish (Anti-fascist Resistance of Oct. 1 group in English) is blamed for the deaths of dozens of Spanish security forces, politicians and top businessmen over the decades.
