Government and private security officials are trying to spur action to stamp out an infectious computer worm they say could disrupt the operations of the entire Internet starting on Tuesday evening. Representatives from the FBI and other federal agencies are warning that the “Code Red” computer worm, which infected 300,000 computers and disrupted several U.S. government Web sites last week, will renew its attacks at 8 p.m. ET Tuesday.
