Maine has received a $489,000 grant to help it evaluate its health care, transportation and communications infrastructure, and gauge its capacity to function and perform in case of a biological or chemical weapons attack. The grant will fund the purchase of special communications apparatus, personal protective gear and a variety of equipment to detect and decontaminate the effects of biological and chemical attacks.
