The Syrian government announced Wednesday it has taken over the strategic border city of Qusayr, where regime forces and Hezbollah fighters have been battling rebels for weeks. State-run TV said regime forces launched an offensive “that led to the annihilation of a number of terrorists” — a term often used to describe rebels.
