“The United Nations Security Council has imposed sanctions on six South Sudanese generals, in the latest international attempt to quell a grinding civil war in the world’s youngest nation. The generals, three from each side of South Sudan’s 18-month-old war, can no longer travel internationally and have had their assets frozen, U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Samantha Power wrote in a statement.”
