“This emergency message is being issued to alert U.S. citizens residing or traveling in Taiwan that the Joint Typhoon Warning Center and the Taiwan Central Weather Bureau issued warnings for Typhoon NANMADOL on August 27, 2011. The storm is currently projected to make landfall in southern Taiwan on the evening of Sunday, August 28 or early morning of Monday, August 29 and then travel northward along Taiwan’s east coast. It is expected to affect all parts of Taiwan, bringing heavy rain and strong winds to the island through the coming week. “
