A recent survey by Egress shows that only 48% of organizations plan to meet the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) compliance deadline of January 1 2020, including 30% of firms that are already compliant and 18% that plan to achieve this by the end of the year. 27% of companies say they will become compliant some time next year, while 13% say it will take them even longer than that. Shockingly, 12% of organizations do not plan to become compliant at all.
Given these findings, it is hardly surprising that 59% of firms do not currently have a budget for CCPA compliance, while a mere 15% of organizations indicate that they have a mature data privacy program.
