Last week, EA inadvertently leaked the personal data of about 1,600 FIFA 20 players. The leak occurred via an EA website where gamers could register for the FIFA 20 Global Series, an eSports tournament. The website asked users who were trying to to register for the tournament to verify their account information. However, the information presented to players often belonged to a different user.
The leaked information includes email addresses, birth dates, EA IDs, and countries of residence. In order to address the issue, EA took the registration site offline just 30 after launching it. The company later said that it had fixed the problem and that it would inform affected users about the leak.
