Google is warning that hundreds of millions of Android devices are vulnerable to an attack developed by NSO Group, an Israeli spyware vendor. No patch has been released for the flaw, which affects many popular phones including the Google Pixel 2, Huawei P20, Xiaomi Redmi 5A, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, Xiaomi A1, Moto Z3, Oreo LG phones and the Samsung S7, S8, S9 models.
Maddie Stone of Google said that the vulnerability can enable attackers that have already obtained a certain level of access to a targeted device to obtain “full compromise” at the kernel level.
