Security researchers at Trend Micro are warning about a new Magecart campaign targeting the websites of two International hotel chains. Magecart is an umbrella term for various criminal groups that attack websites with the aim of injecting them with “skimming” malware designed to steal the payment card information of visitors.
The latest attack may impact up to 180 hotels in over a dozen different countries. The malware specifically targeted Android and iOS users and was capable of gathering information including “names, email addresses, telephone numbers, hotel room preferences, and credit card details.”
