Amid increasing US-Iran animosity, Iranian National Security Secretary Ali Shamkhani on Tuesday stated that his agency recently managed to “deal a heavy blow against America’s international spy network.” The official added that the Iranian government is currently “engaged in the battle of intelligence with the United States,” and that it is sharing intelligence with its allies as part of this effort.
Shamkhani made the claims, which were dismissed by a US official, on the evening before his Tuesday visit to Russia where he is attending a two-day international security forum.
