A new report by TrustArc indicates that with less than 10 months left before California’s sweeping new data protection law, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) goes into effect, only 14% of organizations are already compliant with the new legislation, while 16% of firms haven’t even started preparing for compliance yet.
The study furthermore shows that companies that also fall under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), have to spend less to reach compliance under CCPA and tend to be much further along in their CCPA compliance efforts than organizations that were not affected by GDPR.
