Bank hackers team up to spread financial Trojans worldwide
Financial Trojans are among the biggest global cyber threats, and the risks for organizations and users only appear to be increasing, for new IBM research shows that the cybercrime groups behind various prominent financial Trojans are increasingly collaborating with each other in order to launch more successful malware campaigns.
Last year, the most prevalent Trojans were Trickbot, Gozi, Ramnit, and IcedID. Researchers with IBM have found evidence that the crooks behind IcedID have begun collaborating with the gang behind Trickbot. In addition, the threat actors distributing Gozi have partnered with the people behind another Trojan named URLZone, while the Ramnit campaign was briefly tied to Ngioweb, a proxy server used in malicious campaigns.
