ISIS fighters in Baghouz, the group’s last enclave on Syrian territory, are carrying out suicide attacks and offering other forms of resistance in order to slow the advance of US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). Despite this, the SDF stated that “our fighters advanced deep into areas controlled by the terrorist organization and established a number of new points, following clashes in which terrorists sustained a number of deaths and injuries.”
Earlier this week, the SDF stated that over 3,000 ISIS members had surrendered to them since Monday, and that they were on the verge of capturing Baghouz.
