According to a new report by The Information, Chinese tech giant Huawei has employed various tactics to steal confidential information regarding Apple products and their parts. The Chinese firm tried to get information from Apple suppliers and even from assembly line workers in Foxconn factories where Apple products are produced.
While Huawei has denied the allegations, they are in line with recent indictments by the US Department of Justice (DoJ) against Huawei and its CFO. One indictment charged the Chinese company with cyber espionage and the theft of trade secrets from T-Mobile. The indictment mentioned that these activities are part of a broader policy of Huawei to steal information from competitors, and that the company rewards staff members for obtaining trade secrets and other sensitive information.
