China seems to have added yet another dimension in the US-China battle for tech dominance by presenting a plan to create a global innovation hub to rival Silicon Valley. According to the plan, Hong Kong and Macau will be connected to Shenzhen and Guangzhou, two cities in southern China, in order to create the Greater Bay Area.
According to an estimate by HSBC Holdings Plc, this could turn the densely populated region, which has a total population of over 67 million, into a trillion-dollar economy.
