Hackers Are Passing Around a Megaleak of 2.2 Billion Records
Two weeks ago, news broke of a massive data leak in which nearly 773 million records where exposed. As it turns out, that data set, dubbed Collection #1, was only one part of a much larger collection of compromised records from multiple data breaches.
Security researchers have found an enormous database labeled Collections #2–5 containing around 2.2 billion unique records, making it about three times larger than Collection #1. The immense leak represents the largest data breach ever. Security research warn that cybercriminals are currently distributing the data through BitTorrent clients.
